Browse website from PC as Mobile Browser!

Do you want your Desktop Browser acts like mobile browser e.g. Blackberry Browser, Nokia Mobile Browser (websites detect your browser as from mobile device). Suppose you have a Nokia mobile and you want to download apps from Nokia Store via PC and transfer it to your device. To do that you need the followings:

1. Mozilla Firefox
2. User Agent Switcher (add-ons)
3. Your device User Agent. You can find it from "whatsmyua.com" easily, just browse from your mobile device and it will show your User Agent e.g. Blackberry Curve 8520 User Agent is like below:

BlackBerry8520/5.0.0.1036 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/600

Steps:
1. Now install the User Agent Switcher add-ons in your firefox.
2. Click on the User Agent Switcher button and then click on "Edit User Agents..."
3. User Agent Switcher Options will be appear. Click on "New" and then "New User Agent...".
4. Then put your User Agent and Give a Name in Description and click "OK".
5. Your are done. Now click on the User Agent Switcher icon and select your newly added User Agent.
The world will identify your browser as a Mobile Browser (here, Blackberry Browser)

Take your PC in your Pendrive!!!

It may sound interesting that PC in Pendrive!!! But it is now possible.

On the other hand, day by day the size of PC is becoming smaller and smaller. And now it's possible in PDA or Pocket PC. But problem is that it is not possible to all to buy a PDA or a Pocket PC.

Ubuntu Help: How to run as root user?

Sometimes some application needs root user authorization to run. To run as a root user just type this in Terminal:


sudo su

or, always type sudo before anything else that u want to run as root. This will allow you to become root temporarily.

sudo apt-get update

Execute JAR Application in Computer

We use various application in our mobile phone such as mig33, eBuddy etc. This application is only for java supported mobile set. If you have no java handset but a computer with an internet connection then you can easily execute the JAR application in your computer.

Firstly you have an software that emulates the *.jar file. SJCrot! is one of the Java Emulator software. If you don't have this then download it by clicking here (About 1.25MB).

Install SJCrot! in your computer.

Then download your favourite mobile applications e.g. mig33, eBuddy etc. You can find thousands of mobile applications and games from GetJar.

Double click or open the *.jar file with SJCrot! and enjoy.

N.B.: Some Applications can not be emulated by SJCrot!

Installing Fonts In Ubuntu

Sometimes we need to install new fonts in Ubuntu. Here is a method of installing fonts in Ubuntu.

-> Put the fonts on temporary folder (/tmp).
-> Open Nautilus file browser in root access (alt+F2 gksudo nautilus).
-> Go to fonts folder (/usr/share/fonts).
-> Creat a folder for your new font.
-> Cut and Paste the new font form temporary folder to the newly created folder.
-> Run font cache or type the code below in terminal:

sudo fc-cache -f

Decompress The *.rar File in Ubuntu

Sometimes we need to download *.rar file from the website and we have to decompress the file to get the original file. In windows operating system its easy to decompress just right click to the file and click Extract Here...

But in Ubuntu to decompress the *.rar file open the Terminal window and type:
find -type f -name '*.rar' -exec unrar x {} \;

You can use 7-zip application (installing from add remove application) to easily compress and decompress the many types of format including *.rar

Installing Adobe Air in Ubuntu

If you want to install Adobe Air in your Ubuntu (Linux Operating System) then follow the instructions:


-> Download Adobe Air Linux (.BIN, 10.6MB)

-> Open Terminal and type
$ sudo ./thebinfile.bin
or
$ sudo /path/to/binfile.bin

Here thebinfile.bin and binfile.bin is the .bin file name of the adobe air.

Read Prothom Alo In Firefox

The daily Prothom Alo has no unicode version that is why it is difficult to read Prothom Alo in many web browser i.e. Opera, Firefox etc.

Now you can read Prothom Alo website in your Firefox then just install the Poroshmoni add-ons.

Back Up and Restore Gmail To Your Computer

Sometimes you need to save or backup the mails to computer or transfer is to another mail. You may do it through GMail and you need Gmail-Backup (4.35 MB) software. Firstly install Gmail-Backup in your computer and run it.
-> Give your gmail ID and password.
-> Locate the Directory where you want to backup.
-> Click Backup (Newest emails only may be checked in) then only Newest emails will be backup.
-> You may checked it out and set the date range that you want to backup.
To restore the emails just give your Gmail ID, password and locate the directory of backup file and then click Restore.
